SBLC Celebrates Dr. Seuss w. Foley Library
South Baldwin Literacy Council staff and volunteers celebrated a Dr. Seuss kind of Birthday with staff and children at the Foley Library, joining in the festivities by reading to children and participating in other festivities. SBLC serves over 850 children and adults in South Baldiwn County every year. Community members who seek a better future through education can find opportunities to improve themselves. Established in 1985 as a volunteer based, non-profit, SBLC serves residents in South Baldwin through a wide array of educational services and programming. The Foley based SBLC is currently staffed with an executive director, Mitchell Lee, who also serves as a adult language coordinator, and an English as a second language coordinator. The SBLC has services available for learners of all ages, languages and educational levels. Through the generosity of donations and grants, it provides these services free-of-charge, including GED tutoring, ESL classes and a variety of youth educational services.
