South Baldwin Woman’s Club sponsors school program to thank veterans

The GFWC South Baldwin Woman’s Club has partnered with Edward Jones and Hallmark Cards to bring some extra joy and appreciation to local veterans through its Operation Baldwin County Kids Care: Supporting our local Veterans with Cards program. The support of our local schools can help put a smile on many faces across the country, which can last far beyond this one day. The objective of this program is to get classrooms to commit to decorating and signing Veterans Day cards. It could be as simple as putting their first name, grade and school to writing a short note or drawing a picture. “We hope to bring a little bit of extra joy to a local Veteran this year. We can also use this to give our children a chance to thank those courageous veterans who served and are serving our great nation,’’ said club president Marsha Andrews. “We delivered cards to local American Legions, Baldwin County Veterans Affairs Office and local police departments. Cards will also be delivered to the William F. Green Veterans Home.’’ Carol Zambrano, Vice-President and Public Issues CSP, chaired the project Pictured: Gilda Green, Treasurer, Shirley Looney, Angela Richards, Marsha Andrews, President and Carol Zambrano, Vice-Pres, at the Foley Police Dept.
