Successful Say Yes to Dress A Joint Effort
The GFWC South Baldwin Woman’s Club’s most recent community service project, the “Say Yes To The Dress” campaign was a huge success thanks to its community partners. “Without the support of Lilly Zislin, The Hangout, Gulf Shores Fire & Rescue and Anthony’s Bridal and Tuxedo, we could not have done this,’’ said club president Marsha Andrews. “We will continue to collect gowns and business attire for the young ladies of South Baldwin. We would like to open this again for Homecoming and Winter Ball. We are hoping an individual will donate climate controlled storage.’’
The club spearheaded the collection of used and new prom gowns for a Prom Closet, for young ladies in South Baldwin who can’t afford expensive dresses for prom night. The prom closet also included shoes, handbags and jewelry. GFWC South Baldwin Woman’s Club meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Gulf Shores Activity Center.
