Tickets are on sale now for the South Baldwin Community Theatre’s six run production of Beauty & The Beast Jr., which runs Friday, Aug. 5 thru Sunday, Aug. 14 at the Gulf Shores. Friday and Saturday evening shows start at 7:30 p.m., and the curtain rises at 2 p.m. for the Sunday matinees.
Featuring songs from the Academy Award-winning animated film, this classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
Beauty & The Beast Jr. is the last of three Young Artist Series productions for the 2015-2016 season.
Director Jamie Barrow is not a newbie when it comes to
directing plays. She has also directed 101 Dalmatians, Don’t Stop Believing, Lil Abner and Alice In Wonderland for SBCT.
Assistant director is Savannah Barrow, choreographer is Macy Barrow, student director is Abigail Thompson, and musical director is Jackie Dalhman.
Beauty & The Beast tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and available now online at sbct.biz. Tickets are also available at the theatre box office (2022 W. 2nd St. in Gulf Shores (251-968-6721 or Box office hours are Monday thru Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
