Towson’s Design to Grace Shirmp Fest Poster

After going through a selection process of 25 entries, the Annual National Shrimp Festival has announced Robert Towson of Pace as the winner of the 2019 poster design contest. This year marks Towson’s third time as the winner of the contest, having previously won in 2014 and 2017. Towson is no stranger to poster design as he has also designed the poster for the 2000 Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival and the 2001 and 2005 Pensacola Jazz Festival. He is currently a board member of the Quayside Gallery in Historic Pensacola and a co-chair for Pensacola’s Gallery Night. “The poster has to represent the Shrimp Festival as a whole and incorporate the main themes of music, art, and food,” said Festival Chairman Spencer Cade. “Robert does such a great job getting these messages across.” Along with his poster being the face of the festival and being featured on various pieces of advertising and merchandise, Towson will also be awarded a cash prize of $1,000. The 48th Annual National Shrimp Festival will take place in Gulf Shores from Oct. 10-13. More info: myshrimpfest. com.
