Unity Church services at Papa Rocco’s, Bayes

Spiritual self-care does not require a church sanctuary.
“We hold church services in public places, said Rev, Jim Mullis, who along with his wife, (pictured) Rev. Donna Mullis, are pastors of Unity Church Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.  “Our concept is to offer church as Jesus did, going where people go.”
Unity holds services at two locations on Pleasure Island:
• Unity Gulf Shores – Papa Rocco’s at 101 6th Ave W and Hwy 59, Gulf Shores, AL 36542. Sunday services 10 a.m. starting November 27.
• Unity Orange Beach – Bayes Southern Bar & Grill, 4673 Wharf Pkwy, Orange Beach, AL 36561. Springhill Suites Marriott, The Wharf, next to Orange Beach Convention Center. Sunday services 10 a.m. starting December 4.
Dress is casual and the bar is open during church in both locations, with mimosa, bloody Mary, and food specials for congregants.
“People want to feel comfortable and accepted where they worship. Our congregants tell us that Unity Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are Spirit-filled and fun, and we think so too,” said
Rev. Donna. “But the Unity experience is much deeper than a Sunday morning happy hour. God is our source and Jesus is our way-shower.”
Unity Church Gulf Shores and Orange Beach is proud to be one of the first open-and-affirming churches on the Alabama Gulf Coast. They are a close-knit, welcoming tribe of spiritual seekers from diverse paths, offering practical spiritual Christianity and a safe place for everyone to safely engage with their Higher Power alongside like-minded truth seekers and teachers. This faith family enjoys coming together to support and learn from one another through prayer, meditation, music, laughter, comfort, thoughtful interaction and community involvement.
“We welcome all faith paths,” said Rev. Jim. “We respect and embrace human individuality and diversity, and we affirm that we are all One in the Divine.”
