USA-Gulf Coast lecture series begins Nov. 29 at Foley Library
Local birds, Churchill, German history, Tensaw Delta among 6 topics

The University of South Alabama Gulf Coast Campus Distinguished Lecture Series begins Nov. 29 at the Foley Public Library. Four of the six lectures wil be held at the Gulf Coast Campus Cultural Center Auditorium in Gulf Shores. All lectures start at 6:30 p.m. and are free to the public. The USA Gulf Shores Campus is located at 19470 Oak Rd W. (County Rd. 6 West) in Gulf Shores, about a half-mile east of the Gulf Shores Sports Complex. The Foley Library is located at 319 E Laurel Ave. (Hwy. 98) and two blocks east of Hwy. 59.

The lineup includes:
• November 29 – German History: The Twisting Road of German History. Dr. Dan Rogers, Foley Public Library.
• December 8 – Using Past Geological Events to Envision Future Extinction Events: Are Humanity’s days numbered? The Answer is Yes! Dr. Doug Haywick, Gulf Coast Campus Cultural Center Auditorium.
• January 12 – Birds of the Alabama Gulf Coast. Dr. John Dindo. Gulf Coast Campus Cultural Center Auditorium.
• February 9 – Through Edward O. Wilson: The Mobile-Tensaw Delta. Dr. Sue Brannan Walker. Gulf Coast Campus Cultural Center Auditorium.
•  March 9 – Churchill and the Many Books about His Life. Dr. Ellwood “Woody” Hannum. Gulf Coast Campus Cultural Center Auditorium.
• March 26 – Poarch Creek Indians. Dr. Philip Carr & Dr. Karla Martin. Foley Public Library.
