Women Mean Business Leadership Day Luncheon March 8

The Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Women Mean Business Leadership Day Luncheon at Grande Lagoon Yacht Club on March 8 at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon is part of International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. Tickets are $30 and reserved tables of 8 are $250. The event will include three speakers on topics relevant to women:
• Women in the Work Place “What is next for the #metoo Movement, Pay Equity, and Parental Leave by Jennifer Richardson, Attorney at Law, Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon.
• Financial Health for Women by Erin Wilmer, Wilmer Financial Group.
• Breaking the Barriers by keynote speaker Michelle Caldwell.
The keynote speaker is founder of The Monument to Women Veterans, is a certified First Aid Mental Health Counselor and founded and developed the programming for the Center for Military Excellence. Caldwell also co-created the Independence Fund and developed the Escarosa Independence Fund. She serves on the Board of The Coalition on the Homeless.
Richardson is a past president of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and a board member of the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce. She grew up on Big Lagoon and loves seeing the mindful development of the Perdido area.
Wilmer is a retired Navy Chief and a three-time recipient of the National Defense Wartime Service Medal for service during Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. After her retirement, she immediately started her financial career with Edward Jones Investments in 2012, and she now owns her own firm, The Wilmer Financial Group. She is on the Perdido Key Chamber Board Member and is committee chair for military affairs. She spearheads The Annual Star Spangled Salute: A Tribute to Active and Retired military members and their dependents.
