13-year-old dies after his electric bike collides with truck

A Thirteen-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene after his electric bike collided with truck on May 24 at approximately 1:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Gulf Shores Parkway.
The juvenile was riding an electric bike on the sidewalk south bound when he lost control of the bike and fell into the southbound lane of traffic. A waste container truck was traveling southbound on Gulf Shores Parkway and struck the male in the roadway. A
lifeguard with Gulf Shores Beach Rescue arrived on the scene almost immediately and attempted to provide aid. Gulf Shores Fire Rescue were unable to resuscitate him. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is assisting with the investigation. The juvenile was visiting Gulf Shores from Gainestown, AL.
