Baldwin County Public Schools will host a ribbon cutting and open house of the Fairhope High School 9th Grade Academy, the first free-standing 9th Grade Academy in the district on July 26. There is a second under construction at Daphne High School and it is the intention and vision that every high school in the county will have a separate wing for 9th graders as they transition into high school, according to Superintendent Eddie Tyler. He added that some will be freestanding while others will be incorporated within the current high school buildings. The Fairhope High School 9th Grade Academy will open its doors to students starting this school year.
