Free basic & advanced guitar workshops

Local guitarist Mac Walter will host basic and advanced guitar skills workshops on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Phoenix 10 Condo Conference Room at 29576 Perdido Beach Blvd. (next to the Flora-Bama) in Orange Beach. The basic workshop is at 10 a.m., and the advanced workshop is at 1 p.m. There is no charge to attend either or both classes.
The basic workshop’s focus emphasized on the basic understanding of keys, how the primary chords work, basic chord theory and concepts. The advanced workshop focuses on understanding cords not traditionally found in the key, such as chord substitution and reharmonization. If time allows, the use of passing chords and possibly modulation will be discussed.
