Learn about history of Foley during Thursday morning presentations

Learn about the history of Foley during the City of Foley sponsored series of presentations scheduled every Thursday morning from October 24 through Nov. 21. Attendees will meet on the east side of the Depot Museum and Model Train Exhibit (125 E. Laurel Ave. in downtown Foley) at 10 a.m. Admission is free for the 20-30 minute talk, which will be followed by a question & answer. session. There will be pictures of historic downtown and walking brochures. The Oct. 24 speakers will be Arthur Holk and Tim Russell. In the event of inclement weather, the presentation will be moved to the City Hall Council Chambers. Legends & Lore is the topic for Jeanette Bornholt’s Oct. 31 presentation. Dan Hamburg will speak about the importance of agriculture to Foley. Downtown Treasures is the topic of a Nov. 14 presentation featuring Jack Baber of the Depot Museum and Bill Swanson of the Holmes Museum. Bornholt returns for the final presentation on Nov. 21 – Military Importance: Prisoner of War camps.
