Oprah Magazine lists Perdido Key among “60 Charming American towns’’

An article in O Magazine — Oprah Winfrey’s publication – has named Perdido Key one of its “60 charming American towns you haven’t heard of, but should visit ASAP.”
Perdido Key is ranked 13th on the list and is one of three Florida locations mentioned along with Stuart (no. 6) and Cedar Key (no. 35).
Editors of the magazine’s February issue invite readers to “hit the roads less traveled” with their pick of 60 low-key cities.
The O Magazine staff writes: “In this town, you can skip the touristy parts of the state and relax by the (much less crowded) beach. With fishing, boating, snorkeling, multiple golf courses, and more, there’s a little something for everyone.”
Ranked ahead of Perdido Key were: Skaneateles, New York; Cottage Grove, Oregon; Springdale, Utah; Hilo, Hawaii; Kernville, California; Stuart; Charlevoix, Michigan; Black Mountain, North Carolina; Leavenworth, Washington; and Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. O Magazine was founded by its namesake – talk show host and media mogul Oprah Winfrey – in 2000. For more O magazine features, including the Visit ASAP list, go to oprahmag.com.
