Soommelier Kavanaugh presents fall wine classes

Sommelier Sara Kavanaugh, will host two wine classes at 5:30 p.m. on October 17 and November 7 t Fisher’s Upstairs on Marina Rd. in Orange Beach.

Kavanaugh’s formal training began in Germany and continued at Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans. She has expanded the wine program at both Fisher’s Upstairs and Dockside and Playa in Orange Beach.
She was nominated in the Top 20 by James Beard in both 2013 and 2014 in the category “Best Wine Program in the United States.” She has also been mentioned as one of the Top 100 Wine Programs in the country by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

• Nov. 7: Old World Wine vs New World Wine. Selected for their rich luster, notes which play delicately on the pallet, each world discovered will bring forth its best. Learn how wines of the same varietals can be distinguished just through smell, sight and taste. Even wines from the same grape can open your senses to places you’ve never been.
