Structure framework complete at Legendary’s G.S. marina

The structural framework, a key phase in the construction process, has been completed on the north bank of the IntraCoastal Waterway in Gulf Shores.
Legenday Marina & Yacht Club will celebrate the completion with a topping off party on Oct. 13 beginning at 10:30. a.m. at 335 Waterway W. Blvd., a mile west of Hwy. 59 in Gulf Shores.
The event will include remarks from Rodney Chamberlain, Legendary’s VP of Marina Development, and the public is invited to tour the site. More info: legendarymarinagulfshores. com.
Two dry-stack storage buildings will accommodate vessels up to 50 feet, while wet dockage accommodates vessels up to 60 feet. The marina will also offer boat repair and maintenance, indoor/outdoor dining and a pool clubhouse and will sell small grocery items, ice bait, and fuel.
Developers hope the site will eventually include outdoor venues, multi-use trails, restaurants, retail shops and hotels.
“We’ve had a lot of efforts here but none as well-founded as this one. Not just founded but funded,” Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft said when ground was broken in 2022. The marina is expected to open in the spring of 2024.
