American Idol Trent Harmon will play at ‘Bama on Oct. 29

Trent Harmon, the reigning American Idol, will play do it on the line in the Flora-Bama Tent on Saturday, October 29 at 10:30 p.m. Regular cover charges will be in effect.
The East Mississippi native immersed himself in music from an early age. From singing “Amazing Grace” with his family to starring in various musicals in college, Trent credits life on his family’s farm as a major influence on his music career.
Less than one week after taking the title during the final season of American Idol, Trent entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, with coronation song “Falling,” written by Idol judge Keith Urban and Frank Brown International Songwriters Fest regulars Dallas Davidson and Brett Jones.
The 25-year-old released his debut single “There’s A Girl” on FOX & Friends’ Summer Concert Series. Critics raved week-after-week following each of Trent’s “vocally gifted” (LA Times) A.I. performances, as he covered hits by Justin Timberlake, Sia, Parson James and Percy Sledge.
“Country has always been what I was most comfortable doing, because it’s what I sang the most of when I was home,” Harmon told Rolling Stone Country. “You’re kinda playing the game when you’re on one of these shows. It was so expected of me to sing country, especially for the very first audition. . . When I walked in, they were playing “Green Acres.” So I thought, OK, let’s flip it. So I sang a jazz song.”
