Bob Donnenwirth is grand marshall for Dec. 10 Lillian Christmas Parade

This year’s Grand Marshall in the Lillian Christmas Parade on Dec. 10 is long-time resident Bob Donnenwirth. After serving 22 in the military as a combat helicopter pilot, flight instructor and master aviator, Bob moved to Lillian where he has served in a variety of ways.
He was a co-founder of Lillian United Methodist Church and is a past Post Commander of American Legion Post 48, a charter member of the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay, and Past Master of the Lillian Masonic Lodge 925. He also served as a member of the Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Board and served many years as President of Perdido Bay Enviromental Association.
Candy, trinkets, beads and toys will be flying when the annual Lillian Christmas Parade kicks off at 1 p.m. at the Lillian Community Club. The event is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay. Paraders will travel east on US Highway 98 to 6th Street, north to Barclay Avenue, west to Santa Piedro Street and then south back to the LCC.
Immediately following the parade an awards ceremony will be held in the club where winners will receive $50 gift certificates for Best Overall, Most Creative, Most Enthusiastic and Represents the Spirit of Lillian. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
