Summerdale area businesses will sponsor The First Annual Ambit Cares Brunswick Stew Cook-off benefit event to feed needy families on Saturday, November 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 103 Hwy. 59 in Summerdale on the campus of Southern Patio and Screen. Admission is free to the public and the event will include vendors of all types, face painting and a petting zoo for the children, door prizes, raffles and drawings. Free Brunswick Stew samples will be given out to the first 200 people and the cook-off winners will be based on popular vote. All proceeds will be donated to local food banks and charities in Baldwin County.
Brunswick stew teams and vendors have until Nov. 3 to sign up. The cook-off winner will receive $250 for first place and a trophy. Second place will receive $150 and a trophy, and the third best team will receive $100 and a trophy. The entry fee is $25 for the cook-off and $35 for vendors or non-perishable food items equal to that amount for the 10×10 spaces.
