Christmas Spectacular at Foley Baptist Dec. 9-11

The Coastal Christmas Spectacular sponsored by the Music Ministry of First Baptist Foley and First Baptist Loxley will be held December 9-11 at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Foley. This theatrical style worship presentation features a dramatic cast of more than 30 along with 75 singers and instrumentalists comprising the choir and orchestra. Admission is free. However, early seating tickets can be obtained from the church by calling 251-943-8352.
During the evening you will hear classics such as “The Little Drummer Boy”, “Silver Bells”, and “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch” and new worship songs “What a Glorious Night (Sidewalk Prophets)”and “I heard the Bells (Casting Crowns)” woven together with a creative script that is both humorous and thought provoking. Originally performed at Bellevue Baptist, our fictional story unfolds during the hard times of 1912 in a place where miracles seem hard to find. With the departure of the orphanage superintendent, Mrs Fowlhurst, a somewhat self-centered woman, has appointed a new one who catches the eye of Rose the orphans caretaker. Through a series of fun and disastrous adventures our cast of orphans, along with Mrs. Fowlhurst, will discover that hope survives as the “Light of Christmas” shines. Over 100 volunteers have been working for months to create and prepare what they hope will be a new tradition for your family during the Christmas season. Under the creative direction of Greg Engell, who joined the staff in 2014 as minister of music and senior adults, the presentation has experienced the introduction of a live orchestra and a name change. Foley has partnered with Chris Capasse and his ministry teams at FBC Loxley.
