Ecumenical lenten lunches start March 7

The 2019 Lenten Season brings the 10th Annual Lenten Lunches to the South Baldwin Community. The Lenten Lunches will begin on March 7 and continue each Thursday through April 11. As in years past, the lunches will be held at the Foley United Methodist Church from 11:30 to 12:30. There will be a simple lunch served for a suggested donation of $5, followed by a highlight of a local social service program, special music, a Lenten devotion and closing prayer.
The goal each year is to come together and fellowship as a community around tables, across boundaries, and between denominations. This year’s overarching theme is Christ’s Last Words from the Cross. Each week a different speaker will build on this theme, but the devotions will also stand alone, so it is helpful to attend all 6 weeks, but not essential.
