Edible flowers topic of March 7 Foley lecture

Master Gardener, Barb Comstock will present a program on Edible Flowers” at the Foley Public Library on Thursday, March 7 at 2 p.m. Barb will share information on edible flowers as well as providing some recipes to try at home. Barb was born into a family graced with green thumbs. Her father was a plant geneticist with the USDA and her mother was a florist and avid gardener. Barb’s siblings all have gardens as well.
Barb’s interests are diversified and her topics of speech are varied. From tame topics like Edible Flowers, which she will be presenting at the Foley Public Library, to more controversial topics like The History of Colored Cotton and Soil Amendments and What They Can Do For You.
Barb’s favorite topic is Tropical Plants due to a trip to Hawaii where she became hooked on tropical and sub-tropical plants. Her yard of flourishing floriferous chaos is a testament to this fact.
Seating is limited for this performance so reservations are required. Please call 251-943-7665 to reserve a seat. For more info, visit foleylibrary.org, or through the library’s Facebook page or Instagram account.
