Fairhope is highest ranked local school in U.S. News Report

Fairhope High School at no. 11, was the highest ranked Baldwin County high school in the recently released U.S. News and World Report edition of the nation’s best high schools. The rankings are based on academic performance, graduation rates and college-level courses at 20,500 public high schools. Alabama’s top ranked school, Loveless Academic Magnet High School in Montgomery County, was ranked 59th nationwide.
Seven of Alabama’s 10 top ranked high schools anda 15 of the top 20 schools are in districts under the jurisdiction of their city. Similar statistics were strongly noted when The City of Gulf Shores City Council voted to form an independent school system (classes start this August) in 2017.
The city district schools in the top 10 include Mountain Brook, Homewood, Bob Jones (Madison), Vestavia Hills, Hewitt-Trussville, James Clemens (Madison) and Auburn. Loveless Magnet, Brewbaker Tech Magnet, also in Montgomery, and Oak Mt High School are the three top 10 schools in county systems.
