Foley parade (Feb. 22) always attracts local participants
The Foley Mardi Gras Parade, scheduled at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, this year is not city-sponsored, and it’s not the production of any one group. It’s more a loose confederation of folks who want to make sure they have their own carnival fun. “It’s really open to everybody in this area,” said organizer Paul Adams. “We have a lot of businesses that participate, as well as just groups of people.” Floats, trucks, antique cars, walking groups and lots of old tractors are included and organizers stress the family friendliness of the party. It starts .at the intersection of Roosevelt and Alston streets and winds north on Alston before turning west on U.S. 98 and finally heading south on Oak Street. Starts on Roosevelt Street going east, north on Alston, west on 98 and south on Oak back to Roosevelt Ave
