G.S. Garden Club Members Visit Vets Home
Members of the Gulf Shores Garden Club continued a longstanding tradition by visiting the William F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette with gift bags, smiles and hugs for all of its residents. Club members participating included Cheryl Roberts, Vicky Walton, Connie Conlon, Kim Edgerton, Angela Richards, Sherry Hornbuckle, Julie Murphy, Maria Ward, Patsy Krider, Diane Urban, Melanie Walker, Bob Conlon and Jim Richards. Of particular note was the reaction of one of the home’s female vets when she saw the hat that Melanie Walker wore to the event. She liked it so well that she asked Melanie if she could have it. Melanie said “of course.” The lady was so pleased she insisted on a picture of her wearing the hat.
