GCAA resident artist Tommy Vogel lectures at Pensacola State College

The Santa Rosa Art Association welcomed one of the GCAA resident artists, Tommy Vogel, to be a guest instructor for their members this past March at the Pensacola State College Milton Campus. Vogel shared his expertise in different pastel techniques and brought a touch of Gulf Shores’ life with him by having each member paint their own beach scene.
Vogel has been a resident artist at the Gulf Coast Arts Alliance (GCAA) since they opened in 2013. His artwork is on display at the gallery and can be found at most of the art festivals in our area. His inspiration flows through his paintings which all feature vivid colors and realistic scenes.
To see more of Vogel’s work, visit The Gulf Coast Arts Alliance gallery located in the Waterway Village in Gulf Shores.
Working with pastels since his youth has led Tommy Vogel to his own distinct style.  The white sands and the beauty of the Gulf brought Tommy and his wife Judy, to the Coast after their retirement.   With no formal training, his work flows from inspiration, which he believes helps his creativity. His art has a realistic flare, with a broad use of color, and covers a wide range of subject matter from tropical to still life.  Doing strictly original work keeps him busy and always looking for a new idea.
