Gulf Shores Fire Rescue Life Saving Award Recipients
First responders from Gulf Shores Fire Rescue were presented with the Life Saving Award for their actions on the morning of November 22. Gulf Shores Fire Rescue received a call for a cardiac arrest. Engine 2022 was the first unit on scene with the crew of Fire Fighter/Paramedic Rich Nolte, Fire Fighter/EMT Justin Dobbs, and Fire Fighter/EMT Wesley Keith. When Battalion Chief Melvin Shepard arrived to assist, care had already began. Engine 2016 arrived with the crew of Lieutenant/Paramedic Robert Rowland, Fire Fighter/Paramedic Micah Smith, and Fire Fighter/EMT Joe Clark. Lieutenant Rowland’s crew immediately began to assist the other crew. Within a few minutes they were able to obtain a pulse and prepare the patient for transport to an emergency facility. The men and women of Gulf Shores Fire Rescue work extremely hard to provide the best care possible to residents and guests of the city.
