Kids invited to turn rescue pet carriers into works of art Feb. 29

The Stray Love Foundation is inviting children to come out and decorate its pet carriers. The children will be armed with bright colored sharpies and encouraged to be creative and use their imaginations. The budding artists should show up in clothes that can be “sharpied”at the Magnolia Springs Public Library on February 29 from 11am to noon.
“This is a fun event for everyone and we are always delighted to see what the children come up with. Not only do our carriers look fantastic when the children finish with them, but our veterinarians have no trouble spotting our carriers when we take our rescue animals to and from the vet clinic,’’ said Stray Love Director Gayle Guthrie.
The Magnolia Springs Library also hosts “Kitty Thursdays” where the Stray Love Foundation brings adoptable cats or kittens to spend the afternoon at the library from noon to 5 p.m. Needless to say, Thursdays are very popular with the children that visit the library. Since kitten season is almost upon us Stray Love is asking parents, if they can, to send their children with donations of kitten replacement milk (KMR) and kitten wet & dry food. The Library is located at 2440 Magnolia Ave. in downtown Magnolia Springs. More info: straylovefoundation.org or 251.510.8200.
