OBHS Freshman Hallie Rogers for Bahamas Strong project

Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon and the City Council recently recognized Orange Beach High School freshman Hallie Rogers for a Bahamas Strong community service project she has started to help the area that was ravaged by Category 5 Hurricane Dorian in early September.
As part of the campaign, Hallie is collecting diapers and baby wipes, and also selling Bahamas Strong shirts she designed for $20, with all proceeds going toward the cause.
During the council meeting, Hallie told the mayor and council that although many months have past since Dorian hit the Bahama islands, “there is still so much to be done.” Mayor Kennon presented Hallie with a Certificate of Recognition for her efforts.
With the help of City of Orange Beach Logistics Coordinator Chris Litton who reached out to Island Church Pastor Fred Franks, Hallie was connected with the faith-based, nonprofit Convoy of Hope that expressed a dire need for diapers and baby wipes.
Hallie’s goal is to fill four pallets of diapers and wipes that Convoy of Hope will pick up and deliver directly to the Bahamas.
Drop-off locations for diapers and wipes have been set up at the Orange Beach Middle/High School, Orange Beach Sportsplex office and at the Orange Beach Recreation Center.
