Ancient Diseases: Understanding the Terms on Family Documents is the topic of a Baldwin County Genealogical Society sponsored lecture during the club’s monthly meeting at the Foley Public Library on Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. Meetings are free and open to the public. Professional genealogist Cindy Procter Barber for a presentation on how to decipher death documents and identify the impacts of ancient diseases on our ancestors.
Barber’s genealogy addiction began in 1980. She trained under the top genealogist in Indiana and went on to create “Genealogy Workshop”, the first genealogy database for home computers. Barber is president of the Genealogical Society of Okaloosa.
