March 14 BBQ & Blues Cook-Off raises funds for Foley schools

The South Baldwin Chamber Foundation BBQ & Blues Cook-Off will be held on Saturday, March 14 in Heritage Park, located at the intersection of Hwy 59 & 98 in Downtown Foley. The fest is a fundraiser for Foley area schools. In addition to barbeque, the fest will feature craft and retail vendors, children’s activities and music from Alaska transplants, The Defrosters.
The sanctioned event includes these competition categories are: Chicken, Ribs, Boston Butts, Sauce and Anything Butt. Top prizes is the People’s Choice most donations traveling trophy. The cooking competition is open to everyone (backyard only) with the $100 entry fee. Registration deadline is March 1. Food trucks on site. Beer, wine, soft drinks and water and event T-shirts will be sold. All proceeds benefit the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation to support twelve local schools through programs and partnerships that enrich education, develop leadership and better the community.
