Robertsdale Gardeners meet September 11 at G.P. Thames

Members and guests of the Robertsdale Garden Club met at Mama Lou’s in Robertsdale, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 to plan programs and field trips for the coming year. The group decided on three field trips: October, Five Rivers Delta Resource Center; March, Boo for You Bamboo Gardens, Pensacola, FL; and April, Weeks Bay Pitcher Plant Bog. Programs for the year include: “Cannabis: Effective, Legal Uses,” “Air Plants – No Mess, No Fuss;” “Cahaba Lily,: and “Flower Arranging.” There will also be a plant exchange and installation of new officers.
The first meeting in September will be “Flower Arranging” presented by Katie Warren. This program precedes the participation by club members in the Baldwin County Fair on September 22. The theme for the flower show is “Fairies and Flowers”–an extension of the February 2017 meeting which provided instructions on how to create a fairy garden. Guests are always welcome. The club provides the opportunity to learn about gardening with the bonus of fellowship and fun. The September meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 11, at the G. P. Thames Adult Activity Center in Robertsdale. Call 251-609-0674 for additional information. (Submitted by: Mary Ann Lindsay)
