Perdido Key Assn. membership & info meeting is Feb. 24

The Perdido Key Assn. annual membership meeting will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at Eden Condominium (16281 Perdido Key Dr.). More info: perdidokeyassociation.org.
The featured speaker will be Christian Wagley, the coastal organizer for Healthy Gulf – an organization that follows water quality, energy, climate, and endangered species issues on the Gulf Coast.
The meeting will also provide updates on Perdido Key issues and serves as a kick-off to the PKA membership drive.
For almost 35 years, the Perdido Key Association (PKA) has been an information resource and public voice for Perdido Key owners and residents. The organization keeps members up-to-date on land-use developments, beach erosion and access concerns, and issues that will help preserve and enhance the distinctive character of the Key.
Besides serving as a government watch dog, PKA provides information to promote orderly development, combat deterioration, lessen neighborhood tension, and maintain the Key’s natural beauty.
PKA also co-sponsors community events such as World Oceans Day in June and International Coastal Cleanup Day in September.
“We hope members will encourage friends and associates to join PKA in this period of change and controversy on our beautiful island,’’ said PKA Director Charles Krupnick.
“With more members, the views of Perdido Key owners and residents will be better understood by decision-makers.’’
