Fall Festival Oct. 22 at Lillian Recreational Park
Lillian Recreational Park will host a Fall Fest featuring a variety of attractions and activities for the whole community to enjoy on Saturday, October 22 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“The festival is going to be a blast,” said Lucy Smith, one of the festival organizers. “There will be something for everyone – from small children to teenagers to adults. The festival will feature amazing BBQ in our food and beer tent. There will also be activities, attractions, and contests everyone can enjoy. We’ll even show the Alabama game on the big screen, so there’s no reason to stay home!”
Festival goers can spend the day dancing to great music, visiting the pumpkin patch, testing their riding skills on Rocket, the mechanical bull, and checking out antique tractors. Kids can visit the Fun Zone and enjoy the bouncy houses, face painting, balloon art and helping to create Lillian’s largest corn cob and a new community mural.
The juried arts festival will feature unique artwork by a variety of artists and crafters. There will be a hay bale pyramid to climb on and lots of contests to participate in
Local and regional musicians will be featured throughout the day on the Park’s bandstand, so bring out the family and friends and dance the day away (line dancing lessons will be offered, too!).
While most of the Fall Fest is free, parking will be $5/car and there will be a small fee for a few activities (like riding the mechanical bull). Proceeds will go for much-needed park improvements, including paving the parking lot and building dedicated pickleball courts. More fest info, including an updated list of events, activities, and vendors, can be found on the Park’s Facebook page and at LillianRecreationalPark.org.
