14 year old Charles Baranovics wins Race to Top of Turquoise

Fourteen-year-old Orange Beach resident Charles Baranovics won the 6th Annual Race to the Top of the Tower on Feb. 10. Baranovics raced up 31 floors to the top of Turquoise Place Tower in Orange Beach in the race benefitting the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics.
The stairwell race was open to the general public as well as all local and regional firefighters, police, EMS, and military personnel. Baranovics completed the race in three minutes and thirty-five seconds while setting a record for the Race to the Top.
“This is my third year competing and I have been looking forward to it all year,” said the winner. “I enjoy participating with all the first responders who race every year in full gear.”
Participants enjoyed a post event celebration in the Penthouse at Turquoise Place catered by Spectrum Resorts. The Race to the Top of the Tower was the kick-off event for the Gulf Coast Half Marathon weekend
