O.B. Firefighters Have Filled The Boot With $150K
For 19 years, Orange Beach firefighters have gathered community support in their boots to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. During that time, the “Fill the Boot” campaign for MDA in Orange Beach has raised over $150,000, according to Angie Jordin, district director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. During the City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 1, Jordin presented two certificates of appreciation to the Orange Beach Fire Department, who was represented by Fire Marshal Craig Stephenson. Stephenson said this year’s campaign will take place around the Fourth of July. “We appreciate MDA,” Stephenson said. “We try to do what we can for them, as we do for a lot of others. It’s been fun and I think since I’ve been here, which is 19 years now, I believe I’ve had a foot in it the whole time and it’s in my lap now.” Pictured: Stephenson and Jordin with certificates.
