St. Benedict Catholic School kicks off fundraising campaign

By Sally McKinney
The campaign is on! Friends and faculty of St. Benedict Catholic School in Elberta met recently to kick off the yearly fundraising campaign.
The school has been serving the community for 94 years, inspiring spiritual growth, intellectual challenge, community service and compassion for others. It serves boys and girls from PreK3 to eighth grade.
The mission statement for the school is Ora et Labora – Pray and Work, to love God and others through academic excellence. Now the friends, teachers and parents of the school are praying and working to see that the school continues to instill in students a deep awareness of God’s presence in their lives through a dynamic Catholic education and service program.
In continuous operation since 1921, the school boasts a wealth of alumni from many generations and in all walks of life, from judges to real estate developers to clergy to musicians to farmers to soldiers.
Graduating eighth grade students move on to local high schools, both public and private, and continue on the road to excellence, receiving top honors in the county as well as the state.
The Annual Fund Drive will help bridge the tuition gap; fund the operating budget; minimize tuition increases; and update the campus to provide the best possible environment for the students to thrive.
It will help bridge the gap for allotted tuition assistance, making the SBCS experience possible to all deserving students, both Catholic and non-Catholic; continue the goal to be recognized as one of the top academic schools in Baldwin County; enhance the STREAM (science, technology, religion, engineering and mathematics) curriculum in the classroom.
The fund enables the school to recruit and retain the highest caliber of teachers who serve as role models for the students and offers students the opportunity to uncover hidden talents through the arts and extra- curricular offerings such as physical education, sports and choir.
Donations may be made by check or credit card, in one-time gifting, monthly installments and endowments. For information contact Lindsay Schumacher, 251-583-6352, info@linzoutloud.com or Leslie Mapp, 251-986-8143, lmappsbcs@gmail.com.
