Kenny Vines Tourney Chairman thanks all for support

Orange Beach Sportsfishing Club
As Tournament Chairman for 2017, I would like to thanks to all who supported of the 2017 Kenny Vines Memorial Fishing Tournament. Without all of that support, the sponsoring Orange Beach Sportfishing Club would not be able to make this tourney possible.
The Orange Beach Sportfishing Club does not keep the proceeds of the Tournament. All proceeds were originally donated to The Billfish Foundation (TBF). This was a favorite charity of KV’s and he did a lot of work to raise money for the organization.
In the past couple of years, however, that has changed, we have also started using part of the money for local causes, such as hunting excursions for kids. These are children who would not ordinarily have had a chance to enjoy the outdoors. We also donate to local individuals who need a little extra help. Our plans this year, hopefully, include helping Iron Men Outdoor Ministries provide a fishing trip for children, as well as other worthy charities.
As we have activities or events, we will let the community and our sponsors know. If it is something you are interested in, you may want to participate personally.
As a result of generous support, we were able to raise raise $9000 for charity at the tournament. We gave every Jr. angler that brought a fish to the dock a prize and also on stage recognition. We are trying to continue encouraging junior anglers to participate. We are proud that junior anglers were recognized, and our plans are to continue recognizing junior anglers who catch any size fish, even non-qualifying fish.
You can also access our Facebook page to see the pictures from the tournament at facebook.com/OBSportfishing. For more info about the tourney or our club, call me at 251 979-0115. Again, thanks to all for the continued support.
