GCAA hosts Jan. 13 art market, art classes & Ballyhoo Festival
Join the Gulf Coast Arts Alliance (GCAA), Saturday, January 13 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Gulf Shores for our Art Market! Enjoy winter in the South and view artwork by local and regional vendors. The market will take place inside the church located near the gallery, 309 E 21st Ave, Gulf Shores. Watch live demonstrations by artists and purchase perfect pieces for your home.

The GCAA also announced its Ballyhoo Festival on March 3 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. “This festival is our biggest festival of the year and features the (pictured) Porch Creek Indians. All information can be found at ballyhoofestival.com and we are encouraging artist to sign up before the January 15 deadline,’ said GCAA Media Manager Joanna Almond.
The GCAA also announced its 2018 art class lineups. Each class will be 6 weeks long and will be held at the gallery. The schedules and details for each class:
• Beginning Pastel Class; January 10- February 14; 6 week class on Wednesdays only; time 10am-12pm; Teaching artist: Tommy Vogel (pictured); Price $140 (includes supplies).
• Beginning Watercolor CLass; January 11-February 15; 6 week class on Thursdaysonly
Time 9am-12pm; Artist teaching: Mary Lou Nicolai; Price $160 (does not include supplies).
• Watercolor Fun Workshop!; January 13-March 3; 8 weeks Saturdays only; Two hour workshop
time OPEN (TBA); Artist: Mary Lou Nicolai; Price $75 (includes supplies).
• Introduction to Oil Painting Class (for beginners); January 15-February 5; 4 week class on Mondays only; time 9am-12pm; Artist Joanne Hall; Price $140 (does not include supplies).
• Oil Paintings from Photographs Workshop; February 12-February 14; Monday-WEdnesday; Time 9am-4pm; Artist: Craig Reynolds; Price $120 (does not include supplies).
