Gulf Shores police make sexual assault arrest on Hwy. 59

Gulf Shores police arrested a man and charged him with first-degree sex abuse after receiving a call about a possible sexual assault at Patches Tattoo & Emporium on Hwy. 59, about three blocks north of Gulf Place at 3 a.m. on Aug. 28. When they arrived at the scene, police identified Daniel Crain, 45, as the suspect, and later procured a search warrant for the business.
According to court documents, a witness entered the tattoo shop after 2 a.m. and saw the victim naked on a tattoo chair with the suspect behind her. The woman was incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless or mentally incapacitated, according to the report. Crain works at that tattoo shop. The victim may have been restrained due to injuries to her arms and legs, according to the report.
