Helping Hands Donation Drive for Clayton Ladd is Feb. 15
By Kaysheri Haffner, Helping Hands Founder
On Friday, February 15, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., Helping Hands Gulf Shores will hold a donation drive for Clayton Ladd at St. Andrew by the Sea Church Fellowship Hall, located at 17263 Fort Morgan Rd. in Gulf Shores.
Clayton was diagnosed with stage four high-risk Neuroblastoma at age 3. At birth, it was found that his left kidney never properly developed and was non functioning. His right kidney suffered with another obstruction and only functioned at 1/3 capacity. So at 10 days old they did a surgery to correct the obstruction. His recovery went horribly wrong and he spent two months in the NICUS at UAB and USACW. After six months, Clayton began to develop severe scoliosis, and could only receive treatment for that after a few years.
Clayton has continued maintenance treatment for cancer, routine kidney procedures for blockages, and because his scoliosis/kyphosis creates a second curve after his first halo traction and surgery, he had to do a second one this year.
There is a way that YOU can help Clayton. Come to our event. From 5:30-6:30 p.m., there will be a silent auction featuring several local artists and restaurants. All money obtained from the auction will go to Clayton. Afterwards from 6:00-7:30 p.m. there will be a variety show that has singing, dancing, and so much more! You can donate anytime during the show or the silent auction.
If you are unable to make the event you can still lend a Helping Hand. You can deposit check or cash to any PNC bank in Baldwin County. The account name is Clayton Ladd Donation Drive.
Helping Hands Gulf Shores’ goal is to raise $6,000! Clayton’s traveling expenses for his treatment add up to several hundred dollars a month. By the end of the year, his expenses total to about $6,000. We’d like to thank you in advance for lending Clayton a Helping Hand!
