Mardi Gras 2020 Gulf Shores Fat Tuesday Parade rolls down Hwy. 59

The City of Gulf Shores will celebrate the 42nd Anniversary of the Mardi Gras Parade on Fat Tuesday, February 25 at 10 a.m. beginning at Clubhouse Drive and continuing down Highway 59 to Gulf Place. This history of the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras parade dates back to 1978 when a group of locals formed the Pleasure Island Players and thus Mardi Gras began in Gulf Shores. A year later the Mystic Order of Shiners joined the Pleasure Island Players to become what is now the oldest parading order in Baldwin County. Highway 59 will close to traffic stretching from 20th Avenue to Beach Blvd. during the parade. Floats will exit the parade route by going straight through the stoplight into Gulf Place or by turning left onto Beach Boulevard. All normal traffic conditions should resume once parade exits
