NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship game Dec. 6 in O.B.

After a one year break due to Covid restrictions the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship has returned to the Orange Beach Sportsplex with quarterfinals on Dec. 2, semifinals on Dec. 4 and the championship game on Dec. 6. Each match will be streamed live on NAIA’s website. Tickets can be purchased online for $35 for championship/full tournament passes and $15 for daily passes. Visit NAIA.org for more details.
Teams from across the country to compete in 2021 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship in Orange Beach next week
The first round kicked off Nov. 30 with No. 8 University of the Cumberlands (Williamsburg, Kentucky) vs. No. 9 Westmont College (Santa Barbara, California) and No. 7 Aquinas College (Grand Rapids, Michigan) vs. No. 10 Oregon Tech (Klamath Falls, Oregon)
The Dec. 4 quarterfinals will feature No. 4 Central Methodist University (Fayette, Missouri) vs. No. 5 and defending champs Keiser University (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) at 10 a.m.; Winner of Cumberlands-Westmont match vs. No. 1 William Carey University (Hattiesburg, Mississippi) at 1 p.m.; Winner of Aquinas-Oregon Tech match vs. No. 2 Spring Arbor University (Spring Arbor, Michigan) at 4 p.m; and No. 3 University of Tennessee Southern (Pulaski, Tennessee – formerly Martin Methodist College) vs. No. 6 Marian University (Indianapolis, Indiana) at 7 p.m.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday, December 4 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The championship will be played on Monday, December 6 at 1 p.m.
“The NAIA Women’s Soccer Championship is a holiday tradition on the Alabama Gulf Coast, and we look forward to welcoming this signature event back after being unable to host the NAIA in the fall of 2020 due to the pandemic,” said Michelle Russ, vice president of sales, sports and events for Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Sports & Events.
