Perdido Key Music Fest expands to three days

The Perdido Key Music Festival, which debuted in 2021 at Playa Del Rio RV Resort, Beach & Boat Club (16990 Perdido Key Dr.) under the name Hoodstock, will expand to three days, May 6-8, at the same venue this year.
“As with last year, all proceeds will go to benefit the Frank Brown Foundation for Music,’’ said fest founder and Playa Del Rio owner Mark McBride (pictured).
Ticket info, the music line-up and other fest particulars will be announced within the next few weeks, according to McBride.
In 2021, McBride presented a check for $20,000 to the FBISF Foundation from funds generated from ticket sales, a silent auction, a raffle, merchandise sales and sponsorships.
“It was very cool and special to present it on the opening night of the (FBISF) in the Flora-Bama main room,’’ McBride said.
“We created HoodStock in five days. I believe the reason it will become a very successful annual event is because the music and songwriter community got behind a great event for a great cause.’’
