Pictured: Amanda Pruitt released a new 6-song EP in June. The title for the EP, Strong, is apt, as Amanda has overcome many obstacles and has worked her way up the ladder of the “5-year-town” in just a short five months. After movinb from East Texas to Nashville, she is proving her ability one stage and one project at a time. If the strong country roots of Tammy Wynette and Lucinda Williams, the soulful sounds of Janis Joplin and the modern flow of Carrie Underwood or Miranda Lambert could be melded together into one unified sound, you’d have a voice like Amanda’s. Her sound mixes classic and tradition country, rock, modern country, blues and even some good ole’ southern gospel. “Not Turning Back”, released in 2016, is a gospel album inspired by events of her own life. Growing up in Louisiana, she does not have any positive influences in her life, and music helped her to deal with pain, hurt and abandonment. Many close to her said she’d never make it, but Amanda followed her heart. She is one of the faces of Women of Music – Music of Women of Nashville. Amanda continues to travel and play shows as a solo act and with a band of seasoned musicians across Texas and Nashville.
