100 Alabama Miles Challenge kicks off April 22 at GSP

The Learning Campus at Gulf State Park will be one of the starting stations for the 100 Alabama Miles Challenge, a year-long initiative encourages Alabamians to explore the great outdoors by walking, running, hiking, biking, swimming, paddling, riding, or rolling through parks, nature preserves, and rivers with family and friends.
The kickoff event takes place at 9 a.m. on April 22 with a fun, family-friendly leisure walk for all ages that will also be part of GSP’s Earth Day Celebration (see page 12 story). Participants will be led from the Learning Campus to the bald eagles’ nest on Lakeview Trail before returning to the campus for the start of the Earth Day. Free program logo t-shirts and decals will be provided while supplies last. Registration is available at 100alabamamiles.org. Participants can share photos and stories on social media at #100ALMiles while discovering the natural wonders of Alabama.
