Wolf Bay Restaurant Lends A Helping Hand

Wolf Bay Restaurant owner Char Haber values elementary Catholic education and showed her support on September 29 by hosting a recent “Spirit Night” fundraiser for Saint Benedict Catholic School. The restaurant provided a portion, 10% of the food receipts, plus 100% of the bake sale fundraiser that generated $2,000 for Saint Benedict. A third “Spirit Night” fundraiser is scheduled November 17. The spirit fundraiser runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., while the bake sale runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saint Benedict Catholic School returned to in-class school on August 12 and these events are one of the few open to the public to support the elementary Catholic School, located in Elberta. “Events like these are a great way for our school family to come together to have fun, eat great food and generate revenue for the school,” said Dr. McCool. We have lost the use of our gymnasium, multiple air conditioning units and the entryway awning to the school. We know that we will have to cover the $12,000 deductible and we don’t know yet what repair costs our insurance will cover. These fundraisers will help off-set those expenses as we work toward returning to the new normal.”
